Here’s a clip of Alan Rusbridger ( via Matthew Ingram), the Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian, one of the most prestigious newspapers in the English-speaking world. Some of the key take-aways:

• On Commentary: newspapers are up against huge and diverse sources of commentary.
• On the Journalist Model: journalists are less of the figures of authority, and have to acknowledge that the expertise lie outside the newspaper.
• On the Business Model of News: nobody knows what the business model is going to be, but journalists need to think about how the journalism needs to change in order to remain relevant.
• On the Reader: there is a blurring between the reader and the journalist, so it’s become necessary to involve the reader more and create a community around your journalist core.

Hi, I'm CT Moore (@gypsybandito) and this is my personal blog, a place where my thoughts go to wander. I'm a recovering agency hack who now manages SEO, social media, and content marketing campaigns through my consultancy Socialed Inc. Sometimes I speak at conferences, too, but you can check me out on LinkedIn if you really wanna know that much more about me. And if you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or drop me a line. I love it when strangers come a callin' ;-)
