You probably know about 1001 Rules for My Unborn Son. If you don’t, then you should check it out. It’s a book now, and is full of great one liners.

Well, as a father, this kind of thing resonates with me. As a father, I’ve also had to look at myself through different eyes. So I’ve come up with 5 rules of my own.

It’s amazing what you can learn from your own mistakes…

1. Never comment on the beauty of a woman. Stating the obvious makes you seem foolish.

2. Never be the last one to leave a party. It’ll make you look desperate and lonely. Get out while the gettin’ is good.

3. Keep a journal. It will surprise you how much you forget, and how it important it will be to remember it later.

4. Don’t take your work home. And don’t shit where you eat.

5. Observe the sabbath. Even God rested on the seventh day.

  1. Love these man. As a father myself of 2 girls, I’m definitely going to need a rule book. Although it’d probably only have one rule in it: No boys allowed until you’re 25 or I want you out of my house, whichever comes first).
