The more that I explore my infatuation with Vimeo, the more I come to understand that what’s being uploaded has some kind of strange, absurdist-minimalism to it. In fact, I think that the only viral marketing potential that this site has is viral potential in its most purified form.

This is a huge opportunity for companies to market their culture — as long as that culture is along certain lines that is. I’ve noticed how people have “contacts” that are employees at the same company, and how they all upload videos that consists in silly-time at the office. Well, most small tech companies have a relatively young spirit to them, and encourage their staff to Vimeo might be a good way to virally infect the marketplace with knowledge of who you are.
