This is a video from Gapminder called 200 Years that Changed the World. It shows how the world has changed in terms of wealth and health (life expectancy) over the last two centuries. Unsurprisingly, most of the “progress” was made in the last half a century. A really interesting point is when the Narrator, Hans Rosling, compares China to the US, showing just how much they’ve caught up in the last 50 years.

But I digress… what’s really nifty about this clip is that it’s pretty much worthy of Ted — even if it’s more about how the world has already changed rather than how to change it in the future. In any case, enjoy…
